Didier Drogba left Chelsea and he is now open to a MLS transfer
Didier Drogba’s final game of the season for Chelsea of the past season was played on May 24 of 2015 as the Ivorian player was featured in his clubs’ match against Sunderland. When the season was over, Drogba’s playing career with Chelsea also reached it’s end and the experienced attacker is now a free agent.
Drogba is 37 years old but the Ivorian player has already stated on numerous occasions that he has no intentions of retiring anytime soon, he isn’t even considering it. The only thing that the Champions League winner wants to do is continue playing and forget about anything else.
What club Drogba joins doesn’t truly matter for him as much as simply playing in a club, in a team and having consistent performances with his teammates. The most important thing that Drogba has in his checklist of his next possible club is playing time.
Whether or not he can get a large amount of playing time is something that Drogba considers to be hugely important as he is reaching the twilight stages of his career and he wants to spend it by enjoying the sport as much as possible before deciding to hang up his boots.
Didier Drogba unveiled information concerning his decision to leave Chelsea as he said: “I spoke with Jose Mourinho and the board and all of us we found an agreement. Next year I want to have more minutes than I am having now. I just want to play, you know, and finish maybe on a high.’’
“I gave everything, and I can’t give any more. This year I didn’t have that feeling. In fact I felt I could still play, and I still want to enjoy it before I stop. So, for me to stay here and to finish with frustration, no that is not possible, so we all agree and we all understand what is good for all of us.’’
Drogba told the media that he will take off a few weeks before making his decision on what club to join next but a number of clubs from the MLS are being linked with the experienced attacker who is now in search of a new club.
